Notes

This idyllic cottage in its tranquil setting is a feast for the eyes, both inside and out. Once you’ve entered the property through the front door you will find a welcoming Art Deco style living room. This comfortable space is bathed in natural light from the bay window during the day, and warmed by a log burning stove during cosy winters’ evenings spent playing board games.

Just beyond the living room lies the distinctive kitchen, a sparkling new installation filled with superior-quality amenities, including a washing machine and dryer. The retro theme is evident in the stylish fridge, toaster and microwave, making it a practical and fun space in which to prepare meals for your family and friends. A high chair is also available for family use, and a handy downstairs cloakroom is situated to the side of the kitchen.

The light-filled orangery at the rear of the house provides the opportunity for many memorable dining experiences spent admiring the vibrant garden, come rain or shine. It also doubles up as a calming laptop work space, or as a games room for the children.

Head upstairs and you’ll be pleased to find three good-sized bedrooms and a family bathroom: ideal accommodation for large families or friend groups. The master bedroom is a decadent affair, with a kingsize Ammique bed (Ammique) to give a peerless night’s sleep, generous wardrobe storage, and a secluded wooden balcony where you can sip your morning coffee surrounded by birdsong. The second bedroom boasts a comfortable double bed, colourful ornaments and a verdant view of the garden to greet you when you wake. The third bedroom has bunk beds, suitable for those up to 100kg weight, and is well stocked with games and toys to keep even the earliest risers amused. The classic and stylish family bathroom is well fitted for your comfort, with a bath, shower, towels and soap provided.

Heading outside you will discover the garden features at the Riverside Retreat that really set this property apart. The terraced garden is beautifully planted to create an oasis of rural bliss, and long summer evenings can be spent soaking up the Somerset sunsets sat by the lily pond, a glass of wine in hand. The garden also makes a natural playground for the children. It’s perfect for hide and seek and outdoor adventures, and the summer house makes an ideal playden. And that’s not all: beyond your private parking space a secret riverside jetty by the River Frome gives you the chance to enjoy a spot of fishing, river dipping, or just a relax with a good book by the water. A blissful rural retreat, cocooned in the heart of Frome.

Neighbourhood

Walk two minutes left and you have rolling meadows and a continuation of the river you can follow for miles, turn right and you are at the heart of Frome and the famous market, plus days worth of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There is no better spot to enjoy the area.

Frome itself is a vibrant market town dating back to the 17th century. Its cobbled streets are filled with interesting and intriguing spots to visit. Boutique shops and artisan produce to peruse, an array of independent bars and restaurants, there is something to suit every taste and budget. Whether you want to explore the numerous historic buildings, stroll through one of its parks or take in a show, Frome won’t disappoint.

Permanent fixtures include the museum and art centre, whilst scheduled events are also a great pull for the area. The most famous being the Frome Independent Market, taking place on the 1st Sunday of the month.

The town is surrounded by intriguing places to visit.
